ITV Breakfast Daybreak visited Westfield early on the morning of Friday 16th December to film the Christmas lights before a hastily gathered group of villagers. Congratulations to TV 'stars' Alan Heritage and Ken Munday, who said his lights first went up in 1976, and that they had collected around £17,500 for the Hospice over the years. Music was provided by the Ore Salvation Army band (our own WCA Carols group could not be reassembled) who played out to 'We wish you a merry Christmas'.
In the weeks that followed the village lights were also filmed by the BBC and their visit was documented by Dave Pankhurst too!
